The MP3101 Main Processor Module from Triconex serves as the central control unit in Tricon Systems. It operates in parallel with two identical processors, forming a fault-tolerant triad using Triple-Modular Redundant (TMR) architecture.
Each MP3101 module includes dedicated I/O and communication processors that manage data flow across the triplicated I/O bus. It processes control logic while maintaining real-time synchronization with its counterparts via high-speed TriBus communication.
The module uses specialized DMA hardware to perform continuous data voting. Majority voting resolves discrepancies instantly, ensuring uninterrupted operation even during hardware faults. Engineers rely on the MP3101 for SIL3-certified safety functions in mission-critical environments.
