Trusted TMR Power Redundancy
The T8220 accepts two AC power feeds and provides a regulated +15 VDC output for the Trusted system power architecture. The dual-input arrangement supports redundant power-feed configurations and limits the effect of a single upstream AC feed failure.
The module supports hot-swappable replacement within the compatible Trusted chassis. Therefore, maintenance personnel can replace the power module without removing system power from the entire control architecture, subject to the installed system configuration and maintenance procedures.
The power stage incorporates overload, overvoltage, short-circuit, and thermal protection. In addition, the specified cooling arrangement supports natural convection or forced-air operation. The T8220 therefore requires adequate cabinet airflow when the installation operates toward the upper temperature range.
Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)
Q: What DC output does the T8220 provide? A: The module provides a regulated +15 VDC output with a rated output current of 16.7 A.
Q: Does the T8220 support redundant AC power feeds? A: Yes. The module provides two AC input channels for redundant power-feed configurations within the Trusted power architecture.
Q: Can the T8220 be replaced while the system remains powered? A: The T8220 uses a hot-swappable design. Actual replacement procedures must follow the applicable Trusted chassis and system maintenance instructions.
Field Installation Guidelines
Install the T8220 only in a compatible ICS Triplex Trusted chassis and follow the system hardware installation procedure.
Verify the AC supply voltage and frequency before connecting either input channel.
Use appropriately rated upstream protection for each AC feed.
Maintain clear airflow around the module when forced-air cooling is required.
Keep AC power wiring separated from low-level signal and communication wiring to reduce conducted and radiated interference.
Connect protective earth and chassis bonding according to the applicable cabinet grounding scheme.
Inspect connectors and module seating before energizing the chassis.
For redundant operation, verify each AC feed independently before placing the system into normal service.
Do not exceed the specified +15 VDC output current or the applicable chassis power budget.
Follow the manufacturer's hot-swap procedure when removing or installing the module under power.
