Description
Product Overview
The IS220YSILS1B Core Safety Protection I/O Pack from GE’s Mark VIeS Series delivers independent overspeed protection and watchdog functionality for critical control systems. It operates separately from the main controller, ensuring reliable emergency trip relay activation and system health monitoring.
This module supports up to 12 speed probes and integrates seamlessly with TSCA terminal boards. It continuously verifies controller operation using ContW dog signals and provides trip logic if updates fail within five frames.

Features & Performance
The IS220YSILS1B provides backup trip protection independent of the Mark VIeS controller. It supports simplex, dual, and triple controller configurations with TMR redundancy. The module monitors acceleration, deceleration, and hardware overspeed conditions.
Its SIL-rated architecture ensures compliance with safety-critical standards. The I/O pack uses serial connections to interface with SCSA boards and continuously checks TSCA status for fault isolation.
