Product Description
Overview
The PR9268/x0x-100-RAD absolute vibration sensor is engineered for precise measurement of vibration velocities across a frequency range of 4–1000 Hz, supporting amplitudes up to 1500 mm peak-to-peak. This sensor delivers an electrical output directly proportional to vibration velocity, providing reliable, high-fidelity data for critical industrial applications.
Construction and Features
The sensor features a rugged, splash-proof housing suitable for harsh environments. Its measuring element consists of a seismic mass with an integrated coil, suspended on membrane springs, moving within a permanent magnet’s circular gap. The design ensures operation above the resonance frequency of 4.5 Hz. Vibration of the sensor housing generates an electrical signal proportional to the velocity, while damping cylinders achieve a damping factor of approximately 0.6, ensuring a linear response throughout the operational range.
Mechanical limit stops prevent overtravel during excessive vibration amplitudes. The PR9268/20x-100-RAD is optimized for vertical mounting, whereas the PR9268/30x-100-RAD is configured for horizontal installation.

FAQ
Q: Can the sensor measure below the resonance frequency?
A: Yes, measurements below 4.5 Hz are possible with amplitude correction.
Q: What happens if vibration exceeds maximum amplitude?
A: Mechanical limit stops protect the measuring system, preventing damage.
Q: Are there different mounting orientations?
A: Yes, PR9268/20x-100-RAD is for vertical use, and PR9268/30x-100-RAD is for horizontal use.
