Overview
The KJ4001X1-HC1 by Emerson is a LocalBus Left Hand Extender designed for DeltaV™ S-Series Distributed Control Systems. It enables seamless I/O expansion across multiple horizontal carriers by receiving LocalBus signals from a Right Hand Extender, maintaining high-speed communication and system reliability. Installed in the left-most slot of an I/O carrier, it supports up to eight additional I/O modules per extended carrier.
Technical Features
High-Bandwidth Signal Extension
The module maintains transparent communication across extended LocalBus connections. It ensures that the DeltaV controller can interface with additional I/O modules without latency or signal degradation. The extender supports LocalBus power delivery of 12 V DC at up to 8 A, sufficient for all connected modules.
Industrial-Grade Reliability
-
Hazardous area certification: ATEX and FM (Class 1, Div 2 / Zone 2)
-
Rugged connector interface ensures secure, vibration-resistant connections
-
Conformal coating (G3) protects against airborne contaminants and corrosive gases
Integrated Diagnostics
Environmental Resilience
-
Operating temperature range: -40°C to 70°C (-40°F to 158°F)
-
Shock: 10g half-sine wave, 11 ms
-
