Overview
The Emerson DeltaV KL3106X1-BA1 is a high-performance, Intrinsically Safe (I.S.) Discrete Input CHARM designed for the DeltaV Electronic Marshalling system. It allows safe, precise interfacing with 24V DC dry contact field devices in hazardous areas while eliminating the need for external I.S. barriers.
This module combines signal detection, energy-limiting circuitry, and galvanic isolation in a single compact footprint, streamlining installation in Zone 0/Zone 1/Class I Div 1 environments.
Key Features
Intrinsically Safe Design
-
Built-in galvanic isolation and energy-limiting electronics provide full compliance with ATEX, IECEx, FM, and CSA standards.
-
Suitable for direct connection to “Simple Apparatus” or I.S. certified devices in explosive atmospheres.
-
Supports hazardous locations including Zone 0, Zone 1, and Class I Div 1.
Discrete Input Functionality
-
Accepts 24V DC dry contact signals from pushbuttons, limit switches, or level switches.
-
Detects wiring faults such as open circuits or shorts when used with proper end-of-line resistors.
-
Single-channel design ensures precise monitoring of individual devices.
