Description
Product Description
The 3500/22 (146031-01) is a rear-installed Ethernet communication interface designed for the Bently Nevada 3500/22M Transient Data Interface system. Positioned behind Slot 1 of the rack, it serves as the primary network gateway between the monitoring rack and external condition monitoring platforms such as System 1.
This module replaces earlier communication components used in legacy 3500 architectures, consolidating network connectivity and data exchange functions into a dedicated Ethernet interface unit.
It is strictly a communication component and does not participate in machinery protection logic or voting functions. A failure of this module does not interrupt the protective operation of the 3500 rack.
Core Functions

System Role
Within the 3500 architecture, the 3500/22 (146031-01) functions as the communication backbone for the TDI system. It:
-
Enables real-time condition monitoring data transfer
-
Supports vibration waveform and transient event capture
-
Provides Ethernet access for engineering and diagnostic tools
-
Ensures separation from safety and protection logic
FAQ
Is this module part of the protection system logic?
No. It is strictly a communication interface and does not influence protection or trip decisions.
What software does it integrate with?
It is designed for full compatibility with Bently Nevada System 1 condition monitoring software.
Can the system operate without this module?
Yes, but remote communication, waveform transfer, and System 1 integration will not be available.
What is its primary function in the rack?
It provides Ethernet-based communication between the 3500 rack and external monitoring systems.
