Description
Product Description
The Bently Nevada 3500/15 power supply module is designed for use within the 3500 Machinery Protection System, delivering regulated operating power to monitoring and protection modules installed in the rack. The unit supports universal AC input, high-voltage DC input, and low-voltage DC input configurations depending on the associated Power Input Module (PIM).
As a rack-mounted half-height module, the 3500/15 installs in the dedicated left-side power supply slots of the 3500 rack assembly. The module converts external incoming power into stabilized internal voltages required by vibration monitoring, relay, communication, and protection modules throughout the system.
The power supply supports both standalone and redundant configurations. In dual-supply installations, the lower module operates as the primary source while the upper module functions as backup redundancy. This arrangement enables uninterrupted rack operation during module replacement or power source failure when the secondary supply remains active.
Designed for continuous industrial operation, the module is widely used in turbine monitoring systems, compressor protection platforms, petrochemical facilities, power generation plants, and critical rotating equipment applications where high system availability is required.

System Compatibility
The Bently Nevada 3500/15 module operates with compatible Power Input Modules designed for specific AC or DC input types. Universal AC versions are not interchangeable with legacy AC PIM assemblies, while high-voltage and low-voltage DC variants require matching DC PIM configurations.
Mixed legacy and updated module/PIM combinations may be installed within the same rack if properly matched according to system configuration requirements.
Application Areas
Typical installations include:
-
Steam and gas turbine monitoring
-
Compressor protection systems
-
Power generation facilities
-
Oil and gas processing plants
-
Rotating equipment monitoring
-
Process control protection systems
-
Industrial vibration monitoring networks
FAQ
Can the 3500/15 operate in redundant mode?
Yes. Two power supply modules may be installed in one rack for automatic redundancy. The backup supply maintains rack operation if the primary module is removed or fails.
Which rack systems support the 3500/15 module?
The module is designed for use with compatible 3500/05 rack assemblies, including 19-inch rack and bulkhead mounting configurations.
Does the module support both AC and DC input power?
Yes. Depending on the selected Power Input Module, the unit supports universal AC, high-voltage DC, or low-voltage DC input operation.
